To bring you up to date, this past season has seen incredible growth for Canadian Art Song Project (CASP). As we look ahead to the 2014-2015 season we are thrilled to include premieres of new song cycles by Marjan Mozetich in January and Peter Tiefenbach in March. CASP performances this season will feature soprano Joni Henson, mezzo- soprano Allyson McHardy, soprano Nathalie Paulin, baritone Geoffrey Sirett, and the “Diva of Canadiana”, soprano Mary Lou Fallis.
More information regarding our schedule this season will be appearing shortly, so please stay tuned! In the longer term, Canadian Art Song Project is committing to projects that feature the songs of composers Healey Willan, Norbert Palej, Erik Ross and others.
We are thrilled to be commissioning a new work for a quartet of singers and piano from Ana Sokolovic to be premiered in 2017 in collaboration with the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio as part of the celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation. We also dream of playing a larger role in the recital scene in Toronto and elsewhere in Canada as we continue our growth as an organization over the coming years.
With big dreams however, comes the need for broad, sustained financial support. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Canadian Art Song Project. With a base of supporters that include artists, academics, patrons and enthusiasts we can ensure a strong future for Canadian art song composition, recording and performance.
I am so glad to hear more Canadian songs.
Have you considered the song’s of David McIntyre? I especial like From the Psalms.
And of course, all of Jean Coulthard’s. which are so grateful for the voice.
I have not seen the programs for the first recitals so I don’t really know the repertoire you have used.
any how keep up the good work. I shall keep myself posted on your plans.
Sincerely,
Roberta Stephen
