Our Call for Volunteers

Wedge15Industry News

Have you ever considered using your unique skills on an arts board?

If so, this call for CASP friends and volunteers was written for you.

In an effort to revive the existing art song repertoire and to develop new vocal works for Canadian professional artists, tenor Lawrence Wiliford joined with pianist Steven Philcox and together founded the Canadian Art Song Project (CASP) in 2011. CASP promotes art song written by Canadian composers for Canadian musicians.

More than simply encouraging artists and presenters to include some “Canadian content” once in a while, its mission is to encourage us all to embrace Canadian art song as a vital art form that speaks to performers and audiences today.

Our Board is currently eight members strong, looking to grow to twelve dedicated community members to transform Canadian arts and culture. You can see us at: http://www.canadianartsongproject.ca/about/

  1. Develop leadership ability: get practical, hands-on experience by participating in the leadership of a non-profit organization; deepen and broaden your professional skills.
  2. Gain exposure: increase the visibility of your business and/or professional profile through volunteerism.
  3. Build your network: form a broader base of relationships that can impact both your career development and social life.
